Motions for Extension of Time
- All motions for extension of time shall show (a) whether there has been prior
consultation with the opposing counsel or self-represented party and the views of the
opposing counsel or self-represented party; (b) the date when the document was first
due; (c) if prior extensions have been granted, the number of extensions granted
and the date of expiration of the last extension; and (d) the cause for the requested
extension.
- Extensions of time to complete service of process pursuant to KSA 60-203(a) may be granted
either ex parte or after hearing, subject to review of the validity of “good cause,” based upon a timely
filed motion by the moving party
- The court may grant any other extension of time to file any document ex parte as the
interests of justice may demand.
- Anyone aggrieved by an ex parte extension of time shall be entitled to a hearing
upon timely objection.
